Spaceman.Effects.Sputnik.Fuzz

Sputnik Germanium Fuzz - Red
$355.00 + shipping

Sold Out

We present to you Sputnik, a unique all-germanium fuzz featuring vintage Soviet transistors.  Sputnik is an extremely versatile fuzz in a compact enclosure.  The three main control knobs enable an uncommonly wide range of fuzz tones.  There is enough volume boost available to launch your tone through Earth’s upper atmosphere.  When it comes to fuzz gain, the Range control delivers everything from light overdrive tones to thick sustain-laden fuzz.  The Calibrate control dials in the tone of this fuzz, and interacts with the Range control, giving even more versatility between the two.  And we’re just touching the surface of what the Sputnik can do.

In addition to Sputnik’s three main control knobs, there are two toggle switches, labeled Filter and Sync/Drift.  The Filter switch enables a second tone-circuit variation, effectively doubling the variety of tonal options compared to traditional fuzz pedals.  The Sync/Drift switch, when set to Drift, turns the otherwise mild-mannered Sputnik into a corrupt death ray of fuzz; Synth tones, oscillation, pseudo-octaves, 8-bit artifacts and much more.  Adding a layer of control to this double personality is the final dial on the Sputnik, a mini control knob labeled Scan.  All other controls become very interactive in the Drift setting, as well as your instrument’s control knobs and switches.

Within Sputnik lies a plethora of fuzz tones.  Smooth, gritty, vintage, modern, thick, thin, buzzy, bassy, splatty, sputtery, noisy, buttery, controlled or very much out-of-control.  A truly endless cornucopia of fuzz awaits you.

The Sputnik is completely hand-soldered and handmade in Portland Oregon to the highest degree of quality possible.  These are truly artisan crafted tone devices, sparing no detail within or without.  The Sputnik utilizes true-bypass switching via the heaviest duty mechanical footswitch available, while your tone is transferred via quality open-frame jacks.  Open one up and you’ll see an unparalleled display of craftsmanship; with immaculate hand-soldered stacked PCB’s, detailed military-spec wiring, and custom heavy-duty battery connector.  On top of the USA-cast aluminum enclosure sits a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and red jewel indicator light.  This pedal is truly built to last a lifetime.

We will be releasing the Sputnik in multiple batches in order to avoid long wait times.  The First Editions are Copper and Red. The Copper Edition (limited to 30 pcs) features real copper plating and vintage glass jewel indicator.  The Red Edition (limited to 69 pcs) features a special red/yellow engraved faceplate and modern jewel indicator.  Both pre-order editions feature Russian Cyrillic text and will be the only editions to do so.

* Currently available for Pre-order.  Estimated ship date is 8/30/13.  Shipment will occur approximately 4-6 weeks from order date.

The video below was made before the official announcement for the Sputnik. At the time we had no info but it IS in fact the Sputnik!

We received an unexpected package in the mail from Spaceman Effects. Inside we discovered a pedal without any markings or instructions so we decided to film a demo of this mystery pedal. Along with my friend Justin Weaver, we try to figure out what this pedal does as we go with no previous instructions. We recorded it live. This is the first time we have plugged this pedal in. Without an official description from Spaceman Effects we can't be sure we got our descriptions of it 100% accurate other than it is a unique fantastic fuzz!

Spaceman.Saturn.V.Silver

Saturn V Harmonic Booster

Silver
AVAILABLE NOW!
$219 + Shipping

SOLD OUT

The Saturn V is a tone enhancer. It features a simple two knob control layout for Boost and Drive. The Boost control
alone can deliver 18db of boost, with a hint of added sparkle. Adjusting the Drive control will add more harmonic
distortion, while also increasing the total output level of the pedal. Cranking both controls to max will yield 35db of
boost, full of complex harmonic character. The overall tone of the Saturn V gives a subtle openness to the top end of the frequency spectrum. As great as this pedal sounds with guitar, it works equally well with bass and baritone guitar, as it keeps the bass frequencies present, tight and controlled. The harmonic distortion present in the Saturn V is extremely dynamic, dig in and the Saturn V will react. The drive texture is comprised of a mix of odd and even harmonics. The Boost side of the pedal is focused on even-order harmonics. While the Drive side of the pedal increases these even-order harmonics, it noticeably adds odd-order harmonics to the mix. While it excels as a harmonic booster, the Saturn V crosses the line into the realm of light overdrive when the Drive control is maxed. Completely hand soldered and handmade in Portland, Oregon, the Saturn V utilizes true-bypass switching via the heaviest duty mechanical footswitch available, while your tone is transferred via quality open-frame jacks. Open one up and you’ll see an unparalleled display of craftsmanship, with an immaculate hand-soldered PCB, detailed military-spec wiring and custom heavy-duty battery connector. On top of the USA cast-aluminum enclosure sits a durable, engraved vinyl faceplate and jewel indicator light. This pedal is built to last a lifetime. Each pedal is numbered on the nameplate, stating it's limited availability and in addition each is signed and numbered on the inside. The Saturn V also comes with a transferable five year warranty, plus a lifetime discount repair plan.

All sales are final.

Disaster Transport SR

The Disaster Transport Sr is the much anticipated and updated reissue of the limited run Ghost Disaster pedal from 2010. Unlike the first version, which combined our Ghost Echo and Disaster Transport Jr., the Disaster Transport Sr was designed from the ground up to create an intense wash of  lo-fi swirling tape styled echo. It features one darker 600ms modulated delay and one slightly brighter 300ms delay with reverb. Both delays can be run separately, in parallel or series (via the bleed control). When used in series/parallel, the SR will create awesome multi-head style rhythmic delays. In addition to being used as a straight delay, straight reverb, rhythmic delay, modulated delay and old school tape-style echo, it can also be used to create a wide variety of wacky sounds ranging from warped records, clanging flange, smooth chorus, echoed out squalls and various other-worldly effects that are unlike anything else. The switching was designed so each delay can be used individually or in tandem with both true bypass or trails. If you are a fan of old school tape delay and wild lo-fi sounds, you will get hours of enjoyment every time you plug into the Disaster Transport Sr.

Features:
• Delay A- 600ms delay with modulation with controls for Time, Repeats, Rate, Depth, Mix and Bleed

• Delay B- Reverb into 300ms delay with controls for Time, Repeats, Reverb Blend and Mix

• Individual switching for Delay A and B inputs and a master bypass switch, making trails or true bypass possible with no extra effort.

• Expression control for delay A repeats (create self oscillating squalls with delay A while still playing through delay B for an ultimate wash of echoed out noise!)

• Expression control for bleeding delay A out put into delay B (post reverb) to create rhythmic delays on the fly.

• Measures 5 5/8" x 4 5/8", powered by any 300ma 9v adapter for musical instruments.

• 100% Hand made one at a time in Akron, OH

The Warden Optical Compressor
The Warden is an optical compressor with a feature set usually reserved for studio grade units. Built with high grade components and internally powered by 18v, The Warden has loads of gain and sustain on tap and will allow everything from a heavy squash with fast attack and release to a wide open, “barely there” subtle sustain by backing off the ratio. The ratio controls how much the LED affects the LDR (basically, compression intensity), all the way up is full signal compression and more of the unaffected signal will come through as you back it down. It’s a cool and more useful control than the commonly found clean blend. The tone control is actually treble boost/cut which allows the tone coloration to go from warm to bright and lively and everything in between.  Optical compression has a reputation for having more character than a VCA or FET based compression and The Warden is no exception.  It is unlike any other guitar compressor on the market today!

Features:
• Optical compression with complete control over Tone, Attack, Release, Level, Sustain/Compression, and Ratio.

• Powered by a standard 9v adapter and internally boosted up to 18v for more precision, dynamics, and headroom.

• Handmade with high quality metal film resistors, capacitors and an audiophile grade OPA2134 opamp.

• Measures 4 5/8″ x 2 1/2

EQD.Dirt.Transmitter

$145.00

Dirt Transmitter Fuzzdriver
The Dirt Transmitter is dual transistor crumbling fuzz tone. The bias control affects the voltage to the transistors which can create super cool gated velcro fuzz when turned counter clockwise or bring it back to life by turing it clockwise. It's "properly biased" around 2'OClock on the dial. Adjusting the tone with the bias is a must to achieve a wide range of sounds. The fuzz control can produce tones from overdrive like break up to all out thick ripping fuzz tones while never getting flabby. Excessive amounts of volume and virtually no extraneous noise. Works great with both single coils and humbuckers, clean up with the guitar volume is excellent .
